Spreading Care and Compassion @ CPS Global School, Anna Nagar

Written by cpsglobalblog

The simplest acts of kindness are by far more powerful than a thousand heads bowing in prayer.” — Mahatma Gandhi

We recently embarked on a meaningful outreach initiative as part of our school’s commitment to community service and social responsibility. The Sri Arunodayam Girls Home, a residential and rehabilitation center for girls with intellectual disabilities whose families have abandoned them, was identified as a place where we could extend our support. This home provides care, education, and love to some of society’s most vulnerable individuals, and we were privileged to offer our assistance.

On the day of the visit, a group of our student volunteers, accompanied by some of our early years facilitators, set out to Sri Arunodayam. The visit lasted for about an hour, but its impact will be long-lasting. Our volunteers spent time interacting with the residents, engaging in simple, heartfelt conversations, and sharing smiles and laughter. The warmth and joy that radiated from the girls were truly touching and served as a powerful reminder of the importance of empathy, kindness, and community support.

This experience was deeply enriching for all of us. It not only allowed our students to give back to the community but also helped them understand the value of compassion and inclusivity. As we reflect on this visit, we are reminded of our collective responsibility to support and uplift those in need.
