Principle of Moments @ CPS GS, ANN

Written by cpsglobalblog

One of the effect of force on an object is rotation. An object can change its translational to rotational by applying a force at a point. Similarly, an object is in rotational equilibrium, if it is not rotating or rotating at a constant speed.

The learners of IGYR1B applied the concept of Principle of Moments to determine the mass of an unknown object.

A beam balance works on the principle of moments which implies that the anticlockwise moment due to the weight of an object on the left pan of the beam is equal to the clockwise moment due to the standard weight on the right pan of the beam.

Turning a door handle, sitting on a seesaw or closing a pair of scissors are the moment’s everyday examples.
