A city that smells of Culture, Coffee and Coast. An abode to call home.

# NAMMA CHENNAI # MADRAS DAY.

With wholesome cheer and joy, our CPS GLOBAL celebrated Madras Week from 16th August to 22nd August to honour the birthday of the magnificent city of Madras, and the pride and rich heritage that this city carries.

During this week-long celebration, students from CAIE 1 to IB,  surged through a plethora of activities, including media presentations that incorporated the history of the city and its beautiful tradition, which paved a platform for the children to know the land they dwell on today was not easily made. Students had a diligent discussion with their class teacher, showing great eagerness to learn about this lively city, and with rapture showed great participation in a quiz play on the topic “My Chennai City”.

‘Singara Chennai – photo contest  captured the Chennai realities of surpassing beauty,by our our amateur photographers exhibiting their exemplary artistic skills and technical proficiency. To add a touch of beauty and emotion to this celebration, a video compilation on ‘Namma Chennai’ was presented, which comprised the first-person account of the aboriginals and the settlers of CPS fraternity, from parents to teachers to students, about this most accommodative and safest city.

On Madras Day, the 22nd of August, guest lecture by Mr. Rajkumar Nageswaran, a third-generation resident of Chennai and the Director of Lebara Media Services clearly brought out the sense of brotherhood and an insider’s viewpoint .  This was followed by a spectacular celebration by our primary students, which started with a classical dance by students of Grade 4. The speech delivered by our young Chennaiite about the magnanimity of Madras, the mime performance that represented the daily life of a Madrasian, and the ebullient folk dance were an adornment to the Madras Day Celebrations.

Our spirits are high, enlivened as we celebrate the 383rd birthday of Madras. Three centuries and counting for more to live in the Detroit of India.

# NAMMA CHENNAI CHANCE EH ILLE!
