This is the magic of a trace fossil—a unique mark left behind by ancient animals or plants, a hidden gem from a world long gone.
Our Grade 2 students were exploring into the enchanted world of trace fossils! They’re making their own “fossils” by creating casts of animals and shell marks in sand. With a sprinkle of Plaster of Paris, they gently pour over these magical marks, then brush it off to reveal the shapes, just like real fossils! This magical adventure helps them discover how scientists unlock secrets of the ancient past.
These fossils are like windows to other worlds, showing how life on Earth has transformed in incredible ways over millions of years!
