Our Grade 1 students recently participated in an engaging activity focused on learning about money management. Through a fun and interactive budget exercise, they explored the importance of saving and spending wisely. We set up a sensory board with various items, including toys and snacks, and provided each student with play money.
The students were asked to carefully consider what they wanted to buy and what they wanted to save for, writing down their choices. Afterward, they dropped their play money into a specially created piggy bank.
This hands-on experience helped them distinguish between needs and wants while understanding the value of budgeting. The students thoroughly enjoyed the activity and gained valuable skills in managing their money.
