Have you ever noticed how some things can change and then go back to how they were, while others stay changed forever? It’s like magic happening before our eyes!
Our Grade 1 scientists explored this magical world of reversible and irreversible changes through two fun experiments:
Melting Wax and Watching It Solidify
Students observed wax transforming into a shiny liquid as it melted when heated. Then, like magic, it cooled and turned back into a solid. This demonstrated how some changes are reversible!
Mixing Flour with Water
Students explored what happens when flour and water are combined, creating a gooey dough! Unlike the wax experiment, this mixture couldn’t return to its original form, demonstrating an irreversible change.
Through these hands-on activities, students learned the difference between reversible changes, like wax melting and solidifying, and irreversible changes, like mixing flour and water.
These engaging experiments not only sparked curiosity but also helped our young scientists understand how materials transform, revealing a little of the magic in the world around them!
