On November 21st, the students of IBDP-1 had the privilege of attending the grand finale of the TIMES NIE Ideathon, held at the prestigious Anna Centenary Library auditorium. With participation from over 200 schools, the event celebrated the creativity and ingenuity of young minds. Our school was proud to be among the top fifty teams invited to the finale, where each team was honored with medals and certificates.
Representing our school, a team of three students experienced this spectacular culmination firsthand. The event commenced with presentations by the top ten teams, who showcased their innovative ideas to vie for the championship. These teams were shortlisted for their originality and the practical applicability of their concepts.
The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, the Education Minister of Tamil Nadu, who delivered an inspiring speech on the importance of nurturing creativity and innovation among students. Additionally, the Chairman of Vellore International School shared a thought-provoking address, urging the youth to serve the nation and tackle critical issues like brain drain.
Participating in the competition and earning accolades was an enlightening and empowering experience for our students. It has inspired them to continue striving for excellence and to embrace the spirit of innovation.
