Exploring the Magic and Reality: CIE 1 Explores Fiction and Non-Fiction @ CPS Global School, Anna Nagar

Written by cpsglobalblog

“In the world of stories, imagination paints the sky while facts build the foundation. Our CIE 1 students are learning to navigate both realms with curiosity and wonder.”

Our CIE 1 students embarked on an exciting journey to understand the difference between fiction and non-fiction, two fundamental genres in English language. This engaging activity not only introduced them to new concepts but also sparked their imagination and curiosity.

To start off, our students were introduced to the basic definitions of fiction and non-fiction. They learned that fiction refers to stories born from the author’s imagination—tales of talking animals, magical lands, and superheroes. On the other hand, non-fiction is rooted in reality, offering facts and information about the world around us, such as books on animals, space, or history.

Later, the students participated in a hands-on activity where they were given a set of pictures and their task was to sort them into two categories: fiction and non-fiction.
