In the realm of data representation, the students of IGYR 1 were challenged with an ASCII code conversion activity. The challenge engaged the learners in actively converting between ASCII codes and corresponding characters to decode a hidden message. It served as a formative assessment which was based on the learners’ accuracy in converting ASCII codes to characters, as well as their ability to articulate the process and principles behind ASCII encoding. The activity kindled the technical skills and also fostered critical thinking and collaboration among the students.
