A Celebration of Reading: Book Lovers Day at CPS Global School

Written by cpsglobalblog

“There is no substitute for books in the life of a child,” and CPS Global School Thirumazhisai took this to heart by celebrating National Book Lovers Day with a week-long series of events that culminated on

August 9th. The enthusiasm and creativity displayed by students from CIE 1 to 5 truly highlighted the importance of reading and the joy it brings to young minds.

CIE 1 students brought their favorite book characters to life through art, showcasing a delightful range from Peppa Pig to Pikachu, from ghosts to T-Rexes, and from Spider-Man to Iron Man. Their drawings were a vibrant display of imagination, as they added color and character to their dream heroes.

CIE 2 students engaged in a bookends-making activity, crafting colorful book corners using origami sheets. With patience and creativity, they designed unique bookends to decorate their home libraries, reflecting their growing love for books.

In CIE 3, students created Character Portraits of characters from books they recently read. Each portrait was accompanied by the book’s title, allowing them to express their understanding and connection to the characters they’ve grown to love. They also enjoyed the Story Telling Session- “The Tear Thief” using flash cards during their library period.

CIE 4 students participated in a heartwarming bookmark exchange with their friends, inscribing positive and motivating quotes on their handmade bookmarks. As they wished each other a Happy Book Lovers Day, the spirit of sharing and encouragement was palpable.

Finally, CIE 5 students collaborated in teams to create their own storybooks, complete with illustrations and titles. These young authors showcased their creativity and teamwork, resulting in original stories that reflected their collective imagination.

It was truly inspiring to see the young minds at CPS Global School Thirumazhisai immerse themselves in the celebration of Book Lovers Day, demonstrating that the love for books is alive and thriving in our community. As Dr. Seuss wisely said, “The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” This celebration was a testament to the boundless adventures that books offer to children.
