CPS Global School, Thirumazhisai recently celebrated the vibrant and rich culture of France by organizing a special event in honor of French National Day on July 14th, 2023. The event aimed to immerse students in the beauty of French language, history, and iconic landmarks, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for French culture.
As part of the festivities, the students of CAIE 1 to IB 2 took part in the celebrations. Significance of the Bastille – the culmination of a violent revolution in Paris on 14th July 1789 was elaborated by IG1 students. An engaging French quiz on food, culture, perfumes, cheeses, French brands, etc was conducted by the students of CAIE 6 and 7 to test students’ knowledge of the language and its cultural nuances. Students enthusiastically participated, showcasing their grasp of French vocabulary, grammar, and customs. The quiz was a fun and interactive platform to learn more about France.
Another highlight of the event was the introduction of famous monuments in France. Iconic landmarks such as La Tour Eiffel, Musée du Louvre, La Cathédrale Notre-Dame, and La Basilique du Sacré-Cœur were introduced by the students of CAIE 4 and 5. Students gained insights into the historical significance, architectural marvels, and cultural symbolism associated with these renowned sites. It allowed them to appreciate the diverse heritage and artistic contributions of France.
The event not only celebrated the spirit of France but also nurtured a global mindset and a love for cultural diversity among the students.
