The IGCSE year 1 and IBDP year 1 students of CPS Global School, Thirumazhisai embarked on a 3-day IAYP trip from 15th to 17th April, which offered them a plethora of new experiences and unforgettable moments. The students had the opportunity to learn and develop new skills in a stress-free environment, making it a once-in-a-lifetime journey.
The trip was packed with activities that enlightened the students on various topics, including the formation of wood fossils, organic farming, and irrigation methods at Vaksana Farms, as well as the impact of the Indo-French culture in Pondicherry. The students had a unique opportunity to learn how to survive independently without luxurious facilities, making them more self-sufficient.
On the first day of the trip, the students learned about the formation of fossils in trees and the factors that affect their formations. They were then enlightened about different irrigation methods, the importance of organic farming, and had various interactions with farm animals. The students also planted saplings as a natural fence, which would be a mark of their visit to the farms in the future.
The second day of the trip involved a survey in Pondicherry on the Indo-French culture and how it influenced the area. Through the sessions with Alliance Francaise, the students learned more about the importance of French as a language and had a wonderful experience at the rock beach of Pondicherry. They learned about the formation of such artificial beaches and how it can be sustained over many years.
Throughout the journey, the students had the opportunity to reflect on their experiences and write about their thoughts. These experiences allowed them to connect with the new environment as individuals and work better as a team. The trip was a milestone that our CPS Global School students flawlessly conquered.
In conclusion, this IAYP trip was a valuable learning experience for the students, providing them with knowledge and skills that they can apply in the future. The trip helped them to develop their personalities and teamwork skills, making it an enriching and unforgettable journey.
