A familiar sense of anticipation could be felt in the air as CPS Global School, Thirumazhisai geared up for the return of the students after their summer break. After a period of relaxation, rejuvenation and exploration it’s the time to reunite with friends, embrace new challenges and embark on another academic journey. The day started with the teachers guiding the students to their respective classrooms as they walked in through the “Arc de balloons” that decked the entrance. The Welcome back to School photo booth was an instant hit with the tiny tots of ELP and Primary grades. The students participated in an exhilarating ice-breaking activity with their class advisors before proceeding to the first assembly of the year. The assembly started off with the school prayer rendered by Ms Paavani. Thoughts become words and words turn into action. Ms Uma shared the thought for the day. Ms Poongodhai, Ms Jecintha and Mr Surendar presented the News with a twist. Students loved the ‘live’ report by the CPS News Team! Mr Bertrand highlighted the historical significance of the day. Thirukkural and Doha were elucidated by Ms Poomagal and Ms Ponni respectively. To add a little entertainment, teachers welcomed the students with a sprightly number and enacted a mime on important etiquettes to be followed by the students, both at home and school. Next up was an Observation activity for the students. Eight teachers walked the ramp and students were asked questions on what they observed in them. The students erupted in cheer when they figured out the right answers. Ms Suganya welcomed the students with a Tamil poem.
Ms Jayu Ganesh , The Head of the School, addressed the students and expressed her delight in having them back in the campus. Ms Aditi Mukherjee, the assistant DPC and the Academic coordinator introduced the core committee, the heads of the various departments, the class advisors, new teachers and our new students in the forum. The year began by recognizing the contributions of
Mr Sathyamoorthy B and Ms Jagadeeshwari in conducting Logiquids and SOF exams respectively in our school. Students who aced the IMO, ISO and ICO were also conferred with medals and certificates. Thus we commenced the school year with lot of laughter, dreams and goodwill.
