Mastering the ability to tell time is an essential skill for young learners, and making the process enjoyable enhances their engagement and understanding. In this activity, CIE 1 students practiced expressing time in words, linking the visuals on an analog clock with the corresponding language used to describe time.
By providing a hands-on, interactive learning experience, students developed a strong foundation in reading analog clocks and using time expressions such as “o’clock,” “half past,” and “quarter to.” This approach not only made the learning experience enjoyable but also helped students build confidence in a valuable, everyday skill.
During the activity, students used these time expressions to set the hands on their model clocks, while their peers guessed the displayed time. The children found this creative approach both fun and educational, enhancing their ability to tell time in a practical and engaging way.
