Mathematics can be immensely enjoyable, and grasping place value is crucial as it connects to other fundamental concepts, including regrouping and multi-digit multiplication.
Our CIE 2 students explored the concept of place value through a hands-on activity. They formed numbers using unit forms, standard forms, and number names.
Using blocks, they created various three-digit numerals and their corresponding number names. Through this activity, they learned the significance of each digit’s place value, identifying the ones, tens, hundreds, and thousands of positions in a number.
It was a fun and engaging activity with learning objectives successfully achieved.
