The Early Years Level 1 learners participated enthusiastically in a hands-on puzzle fixing
activity as part of their phonics learning of the letter ‘Ee’. The activity strengthened the letter-
sound correlation through a fun and meaningful learning experience. Children were provided
with black-and-white puzzle pieces of an elephant, which they skillfully connected to
form the complete picture. As they connected each piece, the little learners eagerly identified and
repeated the /e/ sound, relating it to the word ‘elephant’. This engaging activity enriched
phonemic awareness and developed their fine motor skills, problem-solving abilities, and visual
perception. The excitement on their faces when they completed the elephant puzzle reflected
their sense of achievement and joy in learning.
