“Bubble Breakdowns: Visualizing Fractions of a Quantity” @ CPS Global School, Anna Nagar

Written by cpsglobalblog

Fractions were often seen as tricky, especially when trying to understand how parts relate to a whole. However, with a little creativity and fun, students found that fractions could be much easier to grasp.

The CIE 3 learners explored the concept of fractions in a new way through “Bubble Fractions.” This approach brought fractions to life visually, turning abstract ideas into concrete, easy-to-understand concepts.

The process of breaking down bubbles helped students see how parts fit into a whole. By dividing a bubble into sections, coloring different parts, and discussing the resulting fractions, students gained a hands-on understanding of dividing quantities.

The bubble breakdowns made fractions less intimidating and allowed students to interact with the concept in a fun and engaging way. This approach turned what could be a complex topic into an enjoyable learning experience.

Learning fractions is like learning to see the world in parts—each piece has its value, and together they create something greater.”
