Breath, Balance, and Beats: CPS Global School – Thirumazhisai Celebrates International Yoga and Music Day

Written by cpsglobalblog

CPS Global School, Thirumazhisai, came alive with mindfulness and melody as students celebrated International Yoga Day and World Music Day, led by the spirited IBDP 2 students. The theme for this year’s Yoga Day, “Yoga for One Earth, One Health,” resonated deeply throughout the morning’s activities, emphasizing the interconnectedness of personal well-being and environmental harmony.

The session began with reflections on the holistic benefits of yoga—for both individuals and the planet. Students engaged in Surya Namaskar, simple yoga postures, and guided meditation, creating a calm, rejuvenating atmosphere. As B.K.S. Iyengar once said, “Yoga does not just change the way we see things; it transforms the person who sees.”

The celebration seamlessly transitioned into the rhythms of World Music Day. A solo vocal performance by one of our DP 1 students captivated the audience, setting the stage for a lively musical quiz featuring reversed lyrics and a riddle round where participants guessed popular melodies from clues. These activities brought joy, sparked laughter, and encouraged collaborative thinking.

The event concluded with all students uniting in a spirited chorus of “Die with a Smile”—a fitting reminder that, like yoga, music has the power to connect hearts and uplift spirits. Adding to the spirit, classrooms during breaks were filled with music, turning the whole campus into a festival of sound and joy.

This dual celebration was a powerful reminder that at CPS Global School, learning goes beyond the classroom, embracing joy, wellness, and unity.
