“Sharing knowledge makes the universe feel a little closer.” With this spirit, the Astronomy Club students celebrated Astronomy Day, marking the culmination of the year filled with curiosity, discovery, and exploration of the night sky.
The event provided a wonderful platform for club members to showcase the knowledge and skills they had developed throughout the year. Students enthusiastically presented their projects and demonstrations to the primary school students, transforming complex astronomical ideas into engaging and easy-to-understand experiences.
One of the most exciting highlights of the day was the Virtual Reality (VR) space exploration experience, where young learners were able to virtually travel through space and witness celestial wonders up close. Another engaging demonstration focused on safe solar observation, where students explained the importance of observing the Sun using proper filters and safety methods. The session sparked curiosity among the younger students as they learned about the Sun and how astronomers study it safely.
Adding to the excitement was the presentation on hydro rocketry, where students explained the science behind water rockets and how principles such as pressure and propulsion help launch them into the sky. The demonstration not only captivated the audience but also helped them understand the science behind rocket launches in a fun and interactive way.
The event beautifully reflected the spirit of collaboration and peer learning, as club members confidently shared their knowledge while inspiring younger students to develop an interest in astronomy and space science.
With proud smiles and a sense of accomplishment, the club members received their certificates, marking the successful completion of the Astronomy Club activities for this academic year. Though the club sessions have come to an end for now, the curiosity it sparked will continue to shine brightly in the minds of our young astronomers.
