Anaerobic Respiration in Yeast @ CPS Global School, Anna Nagar

Written by cpsglobalblog

Cellular respiration is a vital biological process for energy production in cells. While higher organisms respire in the presence of Oxygen our microscopic heroes have the ability to respire in the absence of Oxygen. Bacteria and Fungi possess the ability to survive in low oxygen or oxygen-less environments. The same was explored in the laboratory. Students investigated respiration in yeast by introducing yeast to glucose solution to observe bubbles of carbon dioxide released as the end product of anaerobic respiration.
