Yeast’s Breath: A Redox Indicator Investigation @ CPS Global School, Anna Nagar

Written by cpsglobalblog

A Level 1 and 2 Biology students conducted an experiment on redox reactions using DCPIP and Methylene Blue indicators with yeast cells. The objective was to observe how temperature affects the rate of reaction. By carefully controlling the conditions, students monitored the color change of the indicators and identified the temperature at which the reaction rate was highest. This hands-on investigation deepened their understanding of redox processes and the role of temperature in biological reactions.
