The Week We Changed Our Names: Fun with Sight Words! @ CPS Global School, Anna Nagar

Written by cpsglobalblog

A name is a special part of who we are. The first thing children eagerly learn when they come to school is their friends’ names—and we used this natural excitement to make sight-word learning joyful in EY. Each child was told that a sight word would become their “name” for the entire week. With their eyes gently blindfolded, they picked a card, and the word they chose became their new identity! Even our facilitators joined the fun by adopting their own sight-word names.

The room burst with laughter and curiosity as each name was revealed. All week long, our young learners proudly carried their new names and quickly learned their friends’ names too. This simple yet delightful activity beautifully showed that when learning is filled with joy, it stays with children for a lifetime.
