The Power of Pull: Investigating Magnetic Strength @ CPS Global School, Anna Nagar

Written by cpsglobalblog

“The thicker the layer, the weaker the attraction—science in action!”

CIE 4 students investigated how different materials and their thickness influence magnetic attraction.

They tested paper, plastic, wood, and metal using a strong magnet to see which materials allow magnetism to pass through. They discovered that as material thickness increases, fewer paper clips are attracted. Through this hands-on experiment, they observed that thicker materials weaken magnetic attraction, while non-magnetic materials block it completely.
