Science Activity Session @ CPS Global School, Anna Nagar

Written by cpsglobalblog

As young scientists, our students are constantly engaged in observing, inferring & evaluating in every science. To take their love for sciences one step higher, we at CPS Global School have introduced a Science activity class, one class each week, where students and teachers observe various scientific wonders and phenomena.

This week the students of lower secondary with their science facilitators explored an activity to understand the concept of Density through relatable real-world examples and dynamic activities to connect deeper with scientific concepts.

 The Density Tower Experiment

The Density Tower experiment is a captivating way to explore the concept of density. By layering liquids with different densities, colourful tower that demonstrates this fundamental scientific principle was created.  The goal of this experiment is to understand how and why liquids of varying densities form distinct layers when combined. Small objects like coin, grape and a piece of foam was dropped into the tower. They settled in different layers making the experiment even more interactive and insightful.

Hot Water and Cold-Water Density

Have you ever wondered why hot air rises and cold air sinks? The same applies to liquids! In this fun and simple experiment, we can observe how water at different temperatures behaves due to differences in density. This experiment gives an insight to how temperature affects the density of water.
