Biotechnology is the use of living organisms to manufacture sustainable products for the benefit of humans. Various biopharmaceutics, such as Humulin (human Insulin), Golden Rice (fortified with β-carotene to combat malnutrition), Biofuels (biogas, bioethanol), commercial antibiotics, biological washing powder, bread and fruit juice production were explored by the students and presented their research findings on the pros and cons. It was indeed a brainstorming session with wonderful feedback exchanged amongst all with future scope.
