Nurturing Calm, Building Resilience: A Transformative Mind–Body Experience for Educators

Written by cpsglobalblog

Our school had the opportunity to host a deeply enriching Mind and Body session led by Ms. Yashaswini from the Art of Living, an experienced educator with over 15 years of dedicated service in empowering children and teachers across India.

The session focused on building resilience and intuition, guiding educators to understand the powerful connection between the mind and body. Through thoughtfully designed interactive activities, the session created an engaging and reflective space, reinforcing that meaningful learning begins with awareness and connection. One of the most impactful elements of the session was the breathing exercises, which brought a sense of calm, clarity, and balance. These simple yet powerful practices highlighted how mindfulness can help both teachers and students regulate emotions, reduce stress, and remain centered in a fast-paced learning environment.

The session also offered valuable insights into understanding neurodivergent learners, encouraging educators to adopt more inclusive and empathetic approaches in the classroom. It emphasized the importance of recognizing each child’s unique needs and creating spaces where every learner feels supported. A key takeaway was the understanding of the nervous system and its role in managing emotions and behavior. This awareness reinforced how essential it is for educators not only to nurture academic growth but also to support emotional well-being, helping students return to a state of calm and readiness to learn.

The session left us with a renewed perspective on creating mindful and balanced classrooms, where simple practices such as breathing, play, and awareness become an integral part of everyday learning. It was a meaningful experience that will continue to shape our approach to teaching and learning in a more conscious and holistic way.
