Magnetism Unveiled: Exploring Magnetic & Non-Magnetic Materials! @ CPS Global School, Anna Nagar

Written by cpsglobalblog

“Not everything that shines is gold, and not everything that looks magnetic is!”

CIE4 students conducted an engaging investigation to distinguish between magnetic and non-magnetic materials.

To observe their magnetic properties, they tested various objects, including steel, iron, aluminium foil, and coins. Initially, they expected materials like aluminium and copper to be magnetic but discovered that only certain metals, such as iron and steel, exhibited magnetism.

This experiment enhanced their understanding of magnetic properties and their real-world applications in motors, generators, and electronic devices. Through hands-on exploration, students learned how magnetism influences technology and everyday life.

“Science is full of surprises—exploration leads to discovery!”
