Lighting Up Creativity: Circuit Card Activity @ CPS Global School, Anna Nagar

Written by cpsglobalblog

“Wow! My card is glowing!” That was the joyful reaction in our classroom when CIE 1 students saw their handmade greeting cards light up with tiny bulbs. What seemed like ordinary art suddenly turned magical as science stepped in to make it shine.

In our class, we brought together Science and Art to create something colorful, fun, and exciting – a Circuit Card. After learning in the Electricity unit how a simple circuit works with a battery, LED, and conductive tape, it was time to put that knowledge into practice in a creative way.

Each student designed a special greeting card. On the outside, they added drawings, bright colors, and thoughtful messages. Inside, they built a real circuit using conductive tape, a coin battery, and an LED bulb. By carefully connecting their cards, that turned into glowing surprises. When pressed, the tiny bulb lit up, filling the room with amazement and smiles.

The activity showed how art and science can work together. Art allowed children to express their creativity, while science gave their ideas the power of light. The excitement in the classroom was unforgettable – students proudly held up their glowing cards, calling them “mini inventions.”

This hands-on project proved that learning is brightest when imagination and curiosity shine together.

“When art meets science, even a simple card can sparkle with light!”
