At CPS Global School, Thirumazhisai, we firmly believe that grandparents are the guiding lights of love, wisdom, and tradition. To honor their invaluable presence in our children’s lives, our Early Years segment hosted a delightful Grandparents Day celebration filled with fun, laughter, and cherished memories.
The program commenced with a warm welcome by our Early Years children, who joyfully invited the grandparents with cheerful waves, followed by a soulful prayer that set a serene tone for the day. The celebration then unfolded with a series of engaging games and activities thoughtfully designed to create fun-filled moments and lasting memories with their grandchildren.
Draining the Ball – Grandparents raced against time to drain balls from a square-shaped box with a hole, adding excitement right from the start. Paper Cup Stacking with Straws – This playful challenge had participants lifting and stacking cups using only straws, bringing plenty of laughter and cheer. Pebble Transfer (Group Game) – Teams showcased teamwork and precision as they carefully transferred pebbles from one cup to another using spoons. Bomb the City (Group Game) – With music, movement, and quick thinking, grandparents placed them between cities named like Madras, Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai—the thrill of anticipation as each city was called out made this game a highlight. Slurp the Noodles – A creative and fun activity where participants rolled woolen threads from cutouts of a boy and a girl, pretending to eat noodles without hands, racing to finish first.
The day also featured a Story Time session, during which grandparents shared short stories and fond memories, creating a meaningful connection between generations. To further enrich the celebration, specially prepared videos of grandparents with their grandchildren were showcased, followed by a compilation of heartfelt wishes from our Early Years children. These moments brought smiles to every face and fostered a strong sense of togetherness. As a token of appreciation, grandparents were presented with a thoughtful takeaway, a flower bouquet accompanied by heartfelt wishes, along with a photo session in a retro 80s-style photo frame, creating cherished keepsakes. The celebration concluded on a note of joy and gratitude, standing as a reminder of the enduring love, values, and legacy that grandparents continue to bestow upon younger generations.
