Exploring Culture at DakshinaChitra Heritage Museum

Written by cpsglobalblog

Field trips provide students with a unique chance to engage with history and culture outside the classroom. On March 3, 2025, students from Grades 6 to 8 at CPS Global School visited DakshinaChitra Heritage Museum to explore the diverse traditions, architecture, and artistry of South India.

This living-history museum is dedicated to preserving South India’s rich cultural heritage. Students explored historical homes, each reconstructed to represent the architectural styles of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh. These homes offered a glimpse into the lifestyles and traditions of different South Indian communities.

The museum also displayed traditional tools, household items, and art forms, helping students connect with the daily lives of people from various periods and regions.

This educational excursion broadened students’ understanding of India’s cultural diversity and deepened their appreciation for the importance of preserving heritage.
