“The Earth is what we all have in common.” – Wendell Berry
Eco Harmony Week was celebrated with great enthusiasm at CPS, with a focus on raising environmental awareness among our young learners. Throughout the week, children were introduced to the 5 R’s of Waste Management—Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose, and Recycle—through engaging activities, stories, and discussions.
They discovered the importance of caring for the environment and how small, mindful actions in daily life can lead to a cleaner, greener planet. A special highlight of the week was a Zoom meeting with parents, where our little Eco-warriors confidently explained the value of making sustainable choices. Together, families took a heartfelt pledge to protect the Earth and build a better future.
To visually depict the consequences of plastic waste, the children of EY3 collaboratively created a thought-provoking globe installation covered with used plastic bottles and wrappers. This symbolic representation served as a powerful wake-up call, urging us all to cut down on plastic consumption and adopt more sustainable practices.
The week inspired a strong sense of environmental responsibility, empowering both children and families to become mindful stewards of the planet.
