‘Technology is best when it brings people together’
Our IGCSE ICT students explored the power of combining Concept Keyboards and Document Production by designing a virtual Library Kiosk using Microsoft Word.
They used shapes, alignment tools, and text formatting to simulate real-life kiosk buttons such as Search, Borrow, and Payment Options. This hands-on task helped students understand how concept keyboards work in self-service systems, like those used in libraries and airports.
By applying ICT theory in a creative way, learners developed practical skills and experienced how digital interfaces are built and used. It was also a great opportunity for collaboration and critical thinking as they worked in teams.
This project not only made the lesson fun and meaningful but also helped students connect classroom learning to real-world technology.
‘Learning by doing is the key to mastery.’
