Celebrating the Spirit of Dussehra: Special Assembly

The DP1 students presented a special assembly celebrating Dussehra, a festival that symbolises the triumph of good over evil and the victory of truth and righteousness.
The assembly commenced with the Thought of the Day, presented by Kevin George, which inspired students to reflect on the values of goodness, courage and integrity. Agraj B then highlighted the significance of Dussehra, sharing insights into the cultural and spiritual importance of the festival and its timeless message of overcoming negativity and choosing the path of righteousness. The assembly continued with a news-reading segment presented by
Ayaana, keeping the audience informed about important developments around the world. A special segment explored the spiritual significance of the nine forms of Goddess Durga, from
Goddess Shailaputri to Goddess Siddhidatri. Vinay, Kevin and Cao Bowen reflected on the virtues and divine qualities embodied by each form, highlighting the values of courage, wisdom,
devotion, strength and spiritual fulfilment. The presentation encouraged students to imbibe these qualities in their everyday lives and recognise the importance of inner growth and self-
discipline. The students then presented an engaging skit that brought to life the significance of Dussehra through a meaningful portrayal of the eternal struggle between good and evil. This was followed by a lively dance performance by Ayana, Ashmitha and Harini Sri, which added colour and vibrancy to the celebration, showcasing the students’ creativity, teamwork and enthusiasm.
The special assembly served as a reminder that Dussehra is not merely a celebration of a historic victory but also an opportunity to reflect on our own actions and overcome inner challenges such as anger, pride, jealousy and dishonesty. Through their thoughtful presentations and enthusiastic participation, the DP1 students
conveyed the message that the greatest victory is achieved when goodness, compassion and truth triumph within us.
The assembly was a meaningful celebration of tradition, values and student expression, leaving everyone with a renewed sense of purpose and positivity.
