Who says election campaigns must be defined by resounding slogans, towering posters, and persuasive promises wrapped in flashy giveaways? At CPS Global School, Thirumazhisai, our students reimagined the traditional approach—choosing instead a path guided by empathy, creativity, and genuine human connection. In a refreshing departure from conventional campaigning, our student leaders embraced storytelling in place of speeches and prioritized conversations over commands. Rather than canvassing for votes, they spent time with the youngest members of their Houses during free periods, reading storybooks and fairy tales. These moments transcended simple narratives—they became bridges, linking generations through shared curiosity and meaningful dialogue.
Senior students led read-aloud sessions brimming with energy and enthusiasm, where fairy tales leapt off the page and picture books transformed into stages for imagination. Their message extended beyond the ballot—it was one of responsibility, compassion, and the quiet strength of nurturing others. Leadership, in these moments, was not proclaimed; it was lived. The younger students, eyes alight with admiration, watched as their Anna and Akka transformed into engaging storytellers. Inspired, they too stepped forward—eager to share their own favorite tales, revealing early glimpses of leadership rooted in confidence and courage. What emerged was a powerful exchange—not merely of books, but of belief, encouragement, and mutual respect.
The student election campaign gradually evolved into a meaningful celebration of learning, joy, and genuine leadership. As the formal race for votes continued quietly in the background, the real success lay in the heartfelt connections formed, the values exchanged, and the inspiring stories shared. More than a contest, it became a powerful demonstration of empathy, imagination, and the essence of true leadership.
