In a refreshing blend of research, creativity, and technical insight, our IBDP Yr 1 Computer Science students recently took center stage in an engaging class activity focused on real-time network vulnerabilities and their solutions. What made this session stand out? The medium of expression: hand-sketched charts!
Rather than the typical slide presentations, students used chart paper, markers, and plenty of imagination to present complex cybersecurity concepts in visually compelling ways. Each learner picked up a specific type of network vulnerability by researching real-world examples of the vulnerability in action and understanding the causes, impact, and mode of exploitation
This activity helped students:
- Translate technical knowledge into visual depictions
- Understand problem-solving approaches from a defender’s perspective
It was not just about understanding threats, but also about visualizing how we can protect networks in a digitally connected world. We’re proud of our budding cyber defenders and their ability to think critically, research responsibly, and communicate creatively.
