A Closer Look at Flowers: Learning Through Dissection @ CPS Global School, Anna Nagar

Written by cpsglobalblog

In a beautifully engaging hands-on exploration, our CIE 4 learners stepped into the world of botany by dissecting hibiscus and rose flowers. With precision and curiosity, they uncovered the intricate structures hidden within—petals, sepals, stamens, pistils—each delicately designed for the vital process of reproduction.

As they gently separated each part, students began to appreciate not just the structure of a flower, but its elegant purpose. Observing the symmetry of petals, the pollen-covered anthers, and the central stigma sparked questions and wonder about how life continues through these quiet, everyday miracles.

This activity was more than a study of plant anatomy—it was an invitation to observe closely, think deeply, and marvel at the fine details of nature. In discovering how flowers are built, learners also discovered how science helps us see the extraordinary in the ordinary.

“Every flower has a story to tell—if we take the time to look inside.”
