Our CIE 2 learners at CPS Global School, Thirumazhisai, had a wonderful time exploring the fascinating world of shadows through a fun and engaging Shadow Puppets activity. They experimented with a variety of puppets and observed how the shape and size of a shadow can change when the position of the light source or the object is moved. They discovered that shadows have no colour of their own and appear dark because the object blocks the light.
The children went beyond using puppets and creatively used their hands to make animal shapes, bringing their imagination to life! They also learnt an important safety rule—to never look directly at a bright light source, as it can harm their eyes.
To make the experience even more exciting, the children created their own shadow theatre screen and performed short shadow shows, complete with creative animal sounds. Along the way, the learners strengthened their observation skills, shared ideas with their classmates and built confidence while working together in groups. There was plenty of laughter, teamwork, creativity and curiosity throughout the activity.
It was a joyful session of discovery, imagination and lots of learning!
