Learning becomes more meaningful when children can see and touch what they are learning. To help our children understand the different seasons, we organized a fun “Seasons Activity” in the classroom.
The children were invited to bring items connected to different seasons—summer, winter, monsoon, spring, and autumn. Each child enthusiastically presented their item, explaining which season it belonged to. This sharing activity helped boost their confidence and enhanced their speaking skills.
Following the show-and-tell, the children worked collaboratively to sort the items by season. For instance, a Christmas tree and woollen clothes were grouped under winter, while umbrellas and raincoats were placed in the monsoon category. Flowers represented spring, dry leaves symbolized autumn, and items such as caps, sunglasses, and water bottles were linked to summer.
This hands-on activity made learning about seasons an interactive, engaging, and memorable experience. The children thoroughly enjoyed participating and developed a clear understanding of how each season differs in weather, festivals, and everyday essentials.
It was a delightful learning experience that blended fun, observation, and teamwork beautifully.
