Our senior secondary students were invigorated by this month’s Synergy project, the Nexus Collective: LinkedIn Drive, designed to introduce them to the professional landscape and empower them to begin building purposeful networks. Activity leaders guided their peers through the essentials of creating a compelling LinkedIn presence—structuring a clear profile, selecting an appropriate professional photograph, and crafting an impactful headline. Students also learned how LinkedIn enhances visibility among universities and recruiters by showcasing skills and achievements that extend beyond academics.
A key insight from the session was that networking is not merely about gathering contacts, but about nurturing meaningful connections. Students practised sending thoughtful invitations to classmates, teachers, alumni, and mentors, gaining an appreciation for authentic engagement and intentional storytelling.
More than a technical orientation, the LinkedIn Drive inspired students to build confidence, shape their professional identity, and recognize the opportunities such platforms can unlock. It proved to be a truly enriching experience and a valuable skill for their future endeavours.
