Turning Waste into Wonder @ CPS Global School, Anna Nagar

Written by cpsglobalblog

At CPS Global, we believe that learning goes far beyond textbooks. Recently, our Grade 1 and 2 learners participated in an exciting activity – Toy Making out of Waste. The aim was simple yet meaningful: to encourage creativity, critical thinking, and responsible use of resources.

What unfolded was truly inspiring. From simple paper toys to more intricate models made with boxes, bottles, sticks, and other discarded materials, the children amazed us with their imagination. Every toy carried a story, and every creation was unique – some were colorful, some mechanical, and some simply magical in the way they reflected a child’s thinking process.

The highlight of the activity was not just the toys themselves but the way our young learners presented them. With confidence and pride, they explained how they had designed and built their toys, step by step. It was a joy to witness the Cambridge Learner Attributes come alive

Through this activity, the children also understood the importance of reusing and recycling. What might have been considered “waste” at home turned into something meaningful, fun, and purposeful in the classroom.

The activity reminded us that when children are given space to explore, they surprise us with their limitless potential.

We are proud of our young creators for proving that learning is everywhere – even in the things we throw away.
