In a lively lesson on the Olympics, our enthusiastic CIE 1B students at CPS Global School, Thirumazhisai, explored both the Ancient and Modern Olympic Games.
To make the session engaging, students brought along images from the Ancient Olympics and used them to create colourful, informative posters. Working in small groups, they arranged the pictures thoughtfully and added short notes highlighting key details such as the location of the games, the sports played, and the Greek celebrations surrounding them. The posters also featured symbols, illustrations, and clear explanations that made the learning experience even richer.
This hands-on activity not only helped students understand the differences between the Ancient and Modern Olympics but also allowed them to enjoy cutting, pasting, sharing ideas, and proudly presenting their work. Beyond history, they practiced important skills like communication, teamwork, and creativity, making the lesson both educational and enjoyable.
