Exploring Creativity and Math Through ICT: A Fun-Filled MS Paint & Calculator Activity

Written by cpsglobalblog

In an engaging ICT class activity, our students took a creative leap by combining their learning from multiple subjects – ICT, Mathematics, and everyday problem-solving skills.

The highlight of the session was designing beautiful wallpapers using MS Paint, where students applied the mathematical concept of tessellation. Having recently learned about tessellations in their Math class, students creatively replicated geometric patterns—such as interlocking triangles, hexagons, and squares—demonstrating both symmetry and artistic flair. It was exciting to see how Math could be transformed into digital artwork!

Alongside their digital art project, students explored the practical use of the Calculator application on the computer. They were tasked with:

  • Calculating their exact age in years, months, and days
  • Performing unit conversions, such as millimeters to centimeters.

This hands-on session not only reinforced ICT skills like using Paint tools and the calculator app but also deepened their understanding of mathematical concepts in a fun and interactive way.

We look forward to more such joyful learning moments in our ICT classes!…
