Weaving Stories from Pictures: CIE 3 Gets Creative in the Library @ CPS Global School, Anna Nagar

Written by cpsglobalblog

As part of our monthly library activity series, the students of CIE 3 took part in a thoughtful and imaginative exercise in July: Story Weaving. The task was simple but engaging—look at a picture and build a storyline around it.

The activity encouraged students to observe closely, think creatively, and connect ideas into a meaningful narrative. Each child was given a different image and asked to imagine what could be happening beyond the picture.

This activity helped students enhance their observation skills, build vocabulary, and practice sequencing—a key component of storytelling. It also sparked interesting discussions among peers, with students sharing their versions and listening to others’ perspectives.

These regular library sessions continue to provide our learners with a space to explore the joy of reading, writing, and creative thinking beyond the textbook.
