CPS Global School Thirumazhisai organized a comprehensive orientation for parents on the 1st of July 2023, with the aim of providing them with an in-depth understanding of the Cambridge Primary education curriculum. This informative session served as an opportunity to acquaint parents with the school’s vision, mission, motto, academic curriculum, rules, regulations, and administrative policies.
The orientation took place in two formats. For CAIE 1 to CAIE 4, a virtual session was conducted, ensuring convenience and accessibility for all parents. Additionally, a physical orientation was held at the school premises for CAIE 5 students and their parents, fostering a direct connection between the school and families.The event commenced with an introduction to the school’s educational framework, setting the stage for the informative sessions that followed. The Academic Coordinator, Ms. Aditi Mukherjee, warmly welcomed the parents .
To provide a comprehensive overview of the curriculum, Ms. Iswariyalakshmi, Team Lead for Primary, presented detailed insights into the subjects offered, assessment methods, grading system, and shared the results of the checkpoint exams conducted in the recently concluded academic year, providing parents with a holistic understanding of their ward’s progress. Additionally, a sample checkpoint report card was shared, shedding light on the comprehensive assessment structure.
Continuing with the presentation, Ms. Vedha Rangarajan, Team Lead for Upper Primary, provided a comprehensive overview of the Cambridge Primary checkpoint level curriculum, outlining the academic objectives and the teaching methodologies employed to achieve them.Furthermore, Subject Facilitators elaborated on the objectives, teaching methodologies, strategies, and activities pertaining to their respective subjects. Parents gained valuable insights into the planned academic journey for the academic year 2023-24, fostering a sense of transparency and collaboration.
The orientation extended beyond academics, as parents were informed about the diverse range of co-curricular activities available to students, including sports, theatre, and clubs. Additionally, the contact information of class advisors and respective school heads was shared, ensuring effective communication channels for any urgent situations.
The culmination of the orientation program was marked by a dynamic and interactive Q&A session, where parents had the opportunity to seek clarifications and receive further guidance from the staff members. This enlightening orientation session aimed to strengthen the partnership between the school and parents, ensured a shared understanding of the curriculum and fostering a supportive environment for the holistic development of every student. It resonated with the words of Helen Keller who once said, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”
