Women’s Equality Day -100th Anniversary Celebrations

Written by cpsglobalblog

I measure the progress of a community by the degree of progress which women have achieved.

On August 26th 1920, by the 19th amendment of the Constitution of United States, women got the right to vote. This day shouts out loud that we need to recognize and celebrate our heroes and she-roes alike. CPS Global School Thirumazhisai believes in catching the students young, when it comes to instilling noble thoughts in them. We have always taken pride in giving equal opportunities to both genders in all our school activities, be it sports, academics or extracurricular ventures.

The students of CAIE 6,7 and 8 participated in poster making, symposium and debate respectively, to drive home the fact that women deserve equal rights with men.

CAIE6 had comic strip/poster making activity on “Equal Opportunities for women.” It was sheer pleasure to witness their thoughts on paper. Their strong ideas on the topic left us flabbergasted about how much they observe the society around them. Dharshan Saikumar of CAIE6 left us spellbound with his animated short film on Women’s Equality Day.

The topic for the Symposium for CAIE7 was “Toys should be gender neutral”. The points presented by the students were thought provoking and we were in awe of how broad minded the students really are.

CAIE8 had a heated but well organised debate on the topic, “Modern families still hold women back.” The students vehemently supported their stand, for and against the topic. It was wonderful to see them maintain proper etiquette and put forth their arguments firmly to their opponents. For first time debaters, they indeed put their best foot forward!

These activities proved that the future of the world is in our classrooms. Together we strive for a better world at CPS Global Thirumazhisai.
