Our Grade 2 learners became young scientists as they explored how stems transport water in plants. Using celery stalks and Napa cabbage placed in coloured water, they made predictions, observed changes, and recorded their findings.
As the coloured water travelled up the stems into the leaves, learners discovered that stems carry water and nutrients to help plants grow and stay healthy. This fun, hands-on activity encouraged curiosity, careful observation, and scientific thinking while making learning exciting and meaningful.
