Up and down with numbers – ELP 3C @ CPSGS ANN

Written by cpsglobalblog

Learning to arrange numbers in the correct order is the first thing that children learn after counting.

This can be quite a challenge for them as they rearrange jumbled numbers into a particular order. At ELP 3C we conducted an activity on this concept for easy learning .The humble staircase which sees so much of stomp and romp had so much to teach.

Children were asked to arrange a set of random numbers in ascending and descending order.  With application of the concept being the main objective they down rightly understood ascend and descend when directly involved through an activity.

Next time you are out in a mall or in a multi storey building use the stairs and not the lift, you can probably get a session or two about ascending and descending order from your tot!
