As part of the International Award for Young People (IAYP) Skill Section, our secondary students embarked on a three-month self-paced crochet learning programme designed to develop creativity, patience, and fine motor skills. The inaugural session introduced beginners to the fundamentals of crochet, including the correct way to hold the crochet hook and yarn, and practise basic stitches such as the chain stitch. Learning collaboratively, students encouraged one another while progressing at their own pace, strengthening hand-eye coordination, concentration, perseverance, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
This marks the beginning of an exciting crochet journey under the IAYP Skill programme, and we look forward to seeing the beautiful creations our students will produce in the coming weeks.
