A fairy tale is always a fantasy where as a fantasy will not be a fairy tale!!!
So, why to read fairy tales to children? Is it to know that there is a happily ever after or a prince charming always rescues a princess in distress? For Kings to slay dragons and conquer kingdoms you need the inspiration to create , because none of us have seen it happen ! Fairy tales come with rich visuals and contextual elements that bring forth visceral emotions in children.
Would they explore the lone house in the forest or stick to the suggested path? Should they talk to strangers or eat from a candy house when they know better? These are not silly questions. They are serious considerations about how a child makes choices and acts in the wider world.
The ELP segment leaves no stone unturned in mustering up excuses to celebrate . one such was “Fantasies and Fairy tales”. We could see many superheroes in red capes, Egyptian pharaohs and queens, pirates, snow and forest princess and a sparkle bird! And the tales they said left us in bewilderment !
Many fictional characters came to life and so did their quirky tales !
