“We have a responsibility to leave for future generations a planet that is healthy and habitable by all species “– Sir David Attenborough
CPS Global School- Anna Nagar, is with a vision to provide a sustainable learning environment for our students. As a milestone on our journey towards creating Sustainable environment, we have banned the one-time use plastics inside the school campus.
In order to make this possible, our Student Council members conducted a workshop and trained our School attenders to make paper pockets for the classroom dustbins on 16th November 2019. The workshop started with a motivational talk on how their cooperation can make a significant change with reference to reducing plastic usage and why it is important to make this change.
All the 40 Attenders learnt it really quick and the pace of workshop increased with everyone’s contribution by making minimum five paper pockets each from the collected old news papers. As a community, we also decided to use biodegradable bags for the wet wastes collected at school.
Our students were also encouraged and directed to use the paper pockets and biodegradable bags judiciously. We believe these small steps in the right direction will count for a big change.
